11 - Can we understand God?

With every successive generation we seem to get smarter and smarter as humans. Well, at least we think we are getting smarter. We have witnessed with our own eyes the incredible speed of change and technological advances impacting our world, yet we are still no more 'wise'  as a human race. We still struggle with pain, loneliness, hurt, war, brokenness, poverty and so much more. So our friend Solomon was certainly onto something when he commented on the following things:

"As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
    the Maker of all things.

Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let your hands not be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
    whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well." - Ecclesiastes 11:5-6

The challenge for all of us during our final week of Lent is not to try and figure God out, but rather to come to KNOW God as our friend, Saviour and Lord. There is a difference.
