Sitting at His feet

Luke 10: 39 – “She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he said.”

When we read this at first we can be forgiven for thinking that this means that Mary literally goes and sits at Jesus’ feet. However, the phrase – ‘sitting at someone’s feet’ speaks of the relationship between a Rabbi and their disciple. When people chose to become a disciple of a Rabbi (JESUS), they chose to follow their every move, to be mentored by them, to watch how they handled their relationships, their friends, families, finances so on. There was nothing passive about 'sitting at someones feet!'

Are you sitting at the feet of Jesus or are you preoccupied with other things?
