Shake it off

I was listening to the radio this morning and a caller phoned in requesting a particular song. He said he had just had a hectic week and need to shake off some of the pessimism and issues he had been dealing with, so he asked for Taylor Swift's song Shake it off!

I thought is was a great idea for the start of a weekend and then remembered that Jesus had said something similar to his disciples, albeit in a different context. 

"If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet." - Matthew 10:14

Sometimes we let issues hang onto us for far too long and we just need to shake them off. By choosing to shake them free, we open ourselves up to the new blessings that God has in store for us.
