This weekend has been a tough one for our family and we thank you for your prayers, care and support. In many ways the year since Barry's death has passed slowly and we have felt every 'bump' along the road. On the other hand, one also reflects on the many changes in our lives and we realise that 365 days have flown by.
Regardless of time, we have come to understand that God is with us in every season of our lives. Loss, pain and mourning, just happen to be part of our season right now, but we know that God is still with us. We will carry precious memories with us, even as we slowly move into the next season God has in store for us.
As Hillsong says:
"All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship." - (Desert Song)
Solomon learnt this same truth, thousands of years before us. He reflected on this, in his now famous words:
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3)
