A visual reminder

Sometimes we need visual reminders of things that are important to us. This can be photographs of loved ones, or mementos of holidays or a cross that hangs up in our home. All serve the purpose of jogging our memories in order to keep us living in the now. In ancient Israel, Moses was given this instruction:

"Then the Lord said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach them with a blue cord. When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God." - Numbers 15:37- 40

Tour of the Holy Land - September 2019

Forgive the brief mention on this blog post, but I wanted to let you all know that Kim and I are planning on leading a Tour to Israel in September this year. In fact the dates are from the 19-30 September, which is during the school holidays (South African Government Schools). If this is something that would interest you then please send us a message to our email address (delmelinscott@gmail.com) and we can give you all the details.

This is really a once in a life time experience for many people and so we have tried to include as many of the "usual" sites and stopovers as possible, as well as a few extra things along the way.

The one comment that I keep hearing from people who have been to the Holy Land before is this:

"The Bible came alive for me after I had visited the places Jesus where had walked and lived."

Sadly, it is not a keep adventure, as the rand/dollar exchange is always against us, but if this would interest you or anyone else you know, then please get in touch with me.

Telling our stories

"... to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony." - John 1:7

We all have our own stories to tell. For some of us, these life-stories include an account of our faith experience. The stories we share should never be to make others feel "less significant or spiritual", but rather to encourage others in their faith. When I hear from you about how you have encountered Jesus, it does something to me - it makes me feel part of your journey and connects us on the bigger stage of Life. It also inspires me to carry on. This is why I believe so strongly in the power of narrative and telling our story.

For those of you who can make it on Sunday at 6pm (5th June), we are going to be hearing a few testimonies from our recent Israel trip. We will also be showing a few photos and sharing some scriptures. Come along and we pray that your own faith would be inspired. YOU ARE ALL INVITED!

Israel Trip - May 2016

Hello there friends - sorry for using my Blog as a message board, but I just wanted to make the most of this Good News. We met with our Israel tour operator last week and he has kindly agreed to extend the registration deadline for another 2 weeks. So, if you were sitting on the fence, wondering if this trip is for you or not, then I urge you to jump at the opportunity. We are going to have an amazing time.

Trip to Israel

Making a trip to Israel has been on my "bucket list" for a long time. Until last month I had resigned myself to only being able to go to the Holy Land when my boys had finished University (somewhere near the 22nd Century), but I may well be going in 2016. A friend of mine has asked if I would consider joining him in leading a tour group in May next year - which is amazing.

If you have also dreamed of walking where Jesus walked, and reading the Bible in 3-D, then perhaps you should consider joining us on this trip.
