A prayer of Hope

Reverend Trevor Huddleston is believed to have penned this famous prayer:

God Bless Africa;
Guard her children;
Guide her leaders
And give her peace,

for Jesus Christ's sake.
Amen.

Oh how we need this to be true in our generation. Please join me as we commit to seriously pray for our people, leaders, children and nation. I believe that only God has the solution we are looking for. As a nation we have tried all kinds of other options, but we can see that these have not worked.

I remember how we used to commit to pray at 12 midday during the 'dark' days in South Africa. South Africans, from all walks of life, prayed for peaceful elections in 1994 and for our beloved country. We know that those prayers WORKED. So, why shouldn't our prayers work now? We need to resolve to pray without ceasing.

Psalm 85 -  "You, Lord, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger."
