It is hard to express our faith sometimes, but perhaps, at other times, we try and over-complicate things. Describing some of the aspects of faith, in as few words as possible, could prove tricky.
However, here is my attempt for this morning.
GOD CREATED US
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made." - Psalm 139:13-14
May God remind you today that you are his beloved creation.

There is none like You
I am amazed at how our brains work! Today we were just relaxing enjoying Family Day when the words of a song came into my mind. I haven't sung this song for years, but it just popped into my mind - it's really weird. Anyway, these are the words of the song:
"There is none like You,
No one else can touch my heart like you do,
I could search for all eternity long,
and find there is none like you."
"Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me." - Isaiah 46:9
When last did this happen to you? What song were you singing?

Above all else
Thomas a Kempis was an inspired man. In one of his writings he wrote these words:
"Above all else, and in everything,
my soul must rest in God.
Let me, O Living Jesus, rest in you,
above every created thing,
above health and beauty,
above glory and honour,
above power and dignity,
above wisdom and cunning,
above riches and arts,
above joy and gladness,
above fame and praise,
above pleasure and comfort,
above hope and promise,
above things earned and things desired,
above gifts and favours,
above mirth and merrymaking."
May we trust in Jesus today, above all else.

Unconditional

Celebrate today that our God is a God of Love - unconditional love. God's love is so opposite to the standards of the world that we find it hard to comprehend. God loves us - that is amazing.
"The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him." - Daniel 9:9

That's surprising!

What would be a nice surprise for you?
A phone call from a friend?
An encouraging email?
Getting something for free when you go to the store?
How about this for a new way of being surprised?
"It is not surprising that God loves us. However, it would be surprising if God didn't love us, because God IS Love." - Dallas Willard
Think and pray on those words.
And have a Christ-filled day.

Powerful challenge

Here is a quote that deserves many hours of reflection:
"What a vast distance there is between knowing God and loving him." - Blaise Pascal
There are many people who know God, but we need more people who Love God. If our communities were filled with people who loved God, perhaps our world would be a radically different place. When we Love God we would be consumed with living for Him and our actions would want to honour God.
Well, that's what I think anyway. You?
1 John 5:2 - This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
Just out of interest Blaise Pascal created the mechanical calculator in 1642 at the age of 19.
