I love the fact that the Bible is filled with many great promises. Every page has at least one promise for us to hold unto. The writers of the Scriptures understood life and were always keen to show us how God brings newness and hope into the despair of life. Take Isaiah for example, see what he says in this verse,
"Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the Lord ’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.” (Isaiah 55:13 NLT)
Our lives may seem to be over-run with weeds and thorns at the moment, but awesome Cypress trees will soon be seen in place of these thorns. Hang in there, let your roots grow deep, water your faith and see how God will make the trees grow tall.
