If you have ever tried to find something in the dark, just with candlelight, then you can understand how frustrating it can be. Now, if we had a huge flood-light our search would be made so much easier. As we approach the Bible, let us remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit acts as our flood-light. He illuminates the Word of God for us to understand.
"I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called..." - Ephesians 1:18
Quit relying on your own candle to show you the way; allow God's Light to reveal His truth to us.

Luke 11:34-36
34 “Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness. 35 Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. 36 If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”
