God of the Mountains

I was reminded last week that the God we worship is known as "El Shaddai" in the Old Testament. This means "God Almighty" or "God All-powerful." In one translation it is loosely referred to as "God of the Mountains."

Whatever mountain you may be facing in your life at the moment, remember that we belong to El Shaddai - God of ALL the mountains. El Shaddai is the Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. We can "summit" the mountains in our lives because we know that Christ has already conquered the greatest mountain of all.

As David writes:

Psalm 97:5“The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.”

May these words offer you a blessing today...

Genesis 49:25“…by the God of your father, who will help you, by El Shaddai, who will bless you with blessings from heaven above.”

Obstacles defeated

When we place our TRUST in the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ we know that He will help us overcome any obstacle that we encounter. This DOESN'T mean that we will never confront obstacles, but it reassures us that WHEN we do, God will help us navigate our way around/over them.

What obstacle are you facing today? Have you given up already or will you hold onto the belief that God can help you through this tough time?

"But Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Yes—and if you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God, you’ll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over huge obstacles. This mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it will jump. Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God.” - Matthew 21:21-22 (MSG)

Isaiah 26:7 - "But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them."
