Perfect Peace

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal." - Isaiah 26:3-4

As we reflect on this scripture, we are reminded to keep our minds focussed (steadfast) on the Lord. This implies that when we are prone to let our minds wander, or the stress of life causes us to be 'all over the place', that we then choose to fix our eyes on Christ. Once we have developed this habit, we will begin to know the perfect peace that God offers us.

Prayer: Thank you Lord that you offer to be my steadfast rock and firm foundation. Forgive me for the times that I forfeit your Peace by refusing to trust in your plan.

"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." - Unknown

Fix these words

"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads." - Deuteronomy 11:18

God's words are timeless and certain. We need to heed the advice of Moses and 'fix' them to the bottom of our hearts and the centre of our minds. I am not sure if super-glue will help us fix these Eternal words into our lives, but we need to make a daily effort to immerse ourselves in the words of Jesus. The more we do this, the more we allow the heart of God to filter into our hearts.

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." - Matthew 24:35

What is stopping us from 'fixing' God's words to our lives?
What can we do about it?
