All Sufficient

In another moving song by Frances Havergal, she writes these words of comfort. I invite you to use them as your own prayer for the coming year. May God add his blessing to all you commit to do for Him this year. Remember that in all things, God is Sufficient.

"He will never fail us,
He will not forsake;
His eternal covenant
He will never break!
Resting on His promise,
What have we to fear?
God is all-sufficient
For the coming year." - (taken from 'Standing at the Portal')

2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Another year is dawning

Frances Havergal wrote a wonderful song about the dawning of a new year. The words are from another time, but the sentiment is profoundly timeless.

"Another year is dawning:
Dear Master let it be,
In working or in waiting,
another year for Thee."

This year is about to pick up pace, but it is my prayer that we can make 2017 a year with the Lord. In reality, God is present already, waiting for us to join with Him in what He has planned. It is up to us whether we decide to partner with Jesus.

Let us resolve to make this a Godly year - in working or in waiting - a year for Jesus.
