The Artisan

"A rough and unshapen log has no idea that it can be made into a statue that will be considered a masterpiece, but the carver sees what can be done with it. So many ... do not understand that God can mold them into saints, until they put themselves into the hands of that almighty Artisan." - St. Ignatius Loyola

There is so much depth to this little paragraph from St Ignatius. It speaks to us of surrendering into the hands of the Almighty, who is the complete artisan. God knows how to be the painter, sculptor, potter, carpenter, builder - in essence, Creator.

As we consciously choose to put ourselves into God's hands today, will we allow him to shape and mold us?

Colossians 3:10 - "... and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

Captain on the bridge

In his famous quote, Thomas Edison acknowledged the presence of God in an unusual way. He said, "When you see everything that happens in the world of science and in the working universe, you cannot deny that there is a 'Captain on the bridge.'"

For many of us, that Captain on the Bridge is our Creator. We also call him Jesus.

Isaiah 40:28 -  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Genesis 14:19 - "Then Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: “The blessing of the supreme God, Creator of heaven and earth, be upon you, Abram; and blessed be God, who has delivered your enemies over to you.”
