Status and State

"Christ’s death changes our Status; His Resurrection changes our State."

We are reminded that when we surrender our hearts to God, we become friends of Jesus. No longer are we enemies, but we are friends! This gift is given to us through the death of Jesus on the cross. This refers to our change in Status - sinners changing to become FRIENDS.

However, there is another important stage that we need to go through and that is a change in our State. We have to allow the Spirit of God to continually work in us, to shape us into the image of Jesus. Our state then changes on a daily basis. 

In my opinion, too many people get stuck in the 'change in status' stage. The joy of being a friend of Jesus, should not stop us being changed into the likeness of Jesus.



Romans 5:9-11 - ^“And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
  
Enjoy being a friend of Jesus, but don't stop the Spirit from changing you into the person God created you to be.
