No half measures

I had never really thought about the fact that PEACE could be PERFECT. Of course, it makes sense now that I think more clearly about it, but when God offers us 'peace', He offers us a Peace that is complete - perfect - full.

"You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
    because they trust in you.

Trust in the Lord forever,    for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal." - Isaiah 26:3-4

As you spend time in the presence of the Lord, may you taste of the gift of Perfect Peace. Remember that God doesn't offer us half measures of his Peace.

Keep, Stay, Trust

"You keep him/her in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because they trust in you." - Isaiah 26:3

As I read this verse, three words stand out for me.
KEEP
STAYED
TRUST

They all speak of some kind of action - a deliberate movement towards being in the presence of God. We should always seek to 'STAY' our mind on Christ, so that we can 'TRUST' in God's love and mercy. The result of these two things working together is being KEPT in the perfect peace of Jesus. Jesus' response is also an action - to securely enfold us with his care.

What thoughts come to your mind when you read this verse?

"People with their minds set on you,
    you keep completely whole,
Steady on their feet,
because they keep at it and don’t quit.
Depend on God and keep at it
because in the Lord God you have a sure thing." - from the Message version of Isaiah 26
