Over the past 3 days I have had the amazing privilege of leading a Mission in the Springs Methodist Church. It has been a great blessing to preach at 5 different events over the weekend and to see how God has moved in awesome ways. Soli Deo Gloria
"If we want to know how much God loves us, Calvary gives the answer. He loves us to the end." - Michael Cassidy
May you know that you are loved by Jesus today.

Called to work for God
As Christ-followers we are all called to work for Jesus. Perhaps the part we stuck on is defining what we should be doing. John Ortberg offers us a helpful starting point:
“What is the work of God? Is it simply to see
what Jesus would see if he were looking through my eyes, and respond as he
would respond?”
So, working for Jesus actually starts with our eyes! When we look around us, we will see enough work to keep us busy for a lifetime. Our toughest decision is to say, "Yes, Lord! I will willing to help you."

Not small
"A small thing is not small when it leads to something great." - St John of Damascus
Jesus said something similar, 700 years before John of Damascus - even if we have faith as small as a tiny mustard seed we can command mountains to move and they will move (Matthew 17:20). God does not despise things that the world may consider insignificant. God can always turn our humble offerings into something awesome.
Bring what you can to God and watch Him perform wonders.
I dare you.

Only 1
I am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but
I can do something.
And what I can do, I ought to do.
And what I ought to do, by the
Grace of God, I shall do.
- Edward Everett Hale
Let's do what we can. Our contribution will make a difference. Trust God for the results, but let's at least bring our gifts to the table.

Knowing and doing
What do you call it when you make a bad decision and you didn't really know better?
Ignorance!
What do you call it when you know the right way and still choose the wrong option?
Stupidity!
The apostle Paul was perplexed as to why the citizens of Rome would consistently make bad choices, even when they knew better. I agree with him! Surely when we know there is a path to 'Life' and 'blessing', why would we choose the alternative?

“Although
they know God’s righteous decrees ....
they not only continue to do these (evil) things but also approve of those who
practise them.” – Romans 1:32
There is a BIG difference between knowing the right way and then 'doing' what is right.
Choose well today.

Scales of Grace
The rest of the world will judge us according to the 'scales of justice' - that's just how it goes. However, that is not how God sees us - he looks at us through the eyes of the cross.
“The Gospel is good news of mercy to the undeserving. The symbol of the religion of Jesus is the cross, not the scales.” - John R. W. Stott
Thank God for grace and mercy. When you choose to follow Jesus, you moved from being judged on scales of morality to the Scale of Grace!

We'll know in 5 years
George Whitfield was a great evangelist during the 18th Century. He was a contemporary of John Wesley and together they had a huge impact on England and America. It is said that thousands of people responded to Whitefield when he preached the Gospel
message. Once he was asked how many people were converted after one of his sermons - He
replied, “We’ll know in five years.”
Whitfield understood that time reveals which decisions we make are superficial and which are genuine. So, has your commitment to Jesus been a lasting commitment or has it been superficial?
