Digging Deep

"Digging Deep" is a phrase that we often use when it comes to persevering or holding on in the face of tough times. We use the image of digging down to hidden strength and resources in our 'core' in order to help us carry on. I suppose there is an important question to ask along this theme and that is "have we stored up precious reserves deep down in our inner being for the day when we need it most?"

In my experience, building a solid foundation around the life of Jesus is an important daily task and each moment we spend with Christ lays a deeper foundation for us.

Luke 6:48 - It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.
