Not on our terms

We are brilliant at negotiating our way through life. If I do "this", then I expect "that" in return. When asking about the price of something, we are often looking for the discount. We want things on our own terms. The trouble with an attitude like this, is that we begin to think that we can have God on our own terms also.

"...we cannot have God on our terms, domesticated to our requirements, reduced to our ideas of what God should be doing...." - Eugene Peterson

Deuteronomy 29:9 - Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.
