Greed changes us

Ambrose of Milan made an insightful comment on the greed of people. He wrote:

"God ordered all things to be produced so that there would be common food for all, and so that they earth would be the common inheritance of all. Thus, nature has produced a common right, but greed has made it the right of a few."

History tells us that humanity battles to share. Those in power laud it over those who are poor. This happens generation after generation. History should teach us that this always ends in disaster, but we are very slow to learn.Greed teaches us something about the state of our hearts. As Andy Stanley points out...

"Greed is not a financial issue - it's a heart issue." - Andy Stanley

Luke 11:39 - "Then the Lord said to him, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness."

"There is enough on this planet for everyone's need, but not for everyone's greed." - Gandhi

What has God give to you?
Are you willing to share with others?
