We will not be Godforsaken!

The people of Israel and Judah got to a point where they felt that God had turned his back on them. They literally felt desolate and Godforsaken. However, Isaiah reminded the people that God still loved them and that, although things looked rough in the present moment, God was still there for them.

So, Isaiah offers them a promise and it is a promise that I think we should reflect on this advent season.

"...And the Lord will give you a new name. The Lord will hold you in his hands for all to see - a splendid crown in the hands of God. Never again will you be called the Godforsaken City or the Desolate Land. You new name will be the City of God's Delight and the Bride of God, for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his own." - Isaiah 62:2-4 (NLT)

  • God has not forgotten you!
  • The Lord will hold you in his hands for all to see!
  • You will not be Godforsaken.
  • You will have a new name.
  • God delights in you.
